Iron Age, Industrialization Age, Computer Age and Information Age......

Had a slow afternoon so spent doing some reading on the various above. What a disappointment that despite access to good education, universities and open exposure to the information age, we are still where time left us - ABSOLUTELY STANDING STILL, somewhere maybe thousands to a few million years ago. Absolutely nothing, not even any medical breakthroughs which is quite frustrating to realize. How many more generations and generations is it going to need? I suspect it may never happen. In current times ( say the past 100 years ), those who are wealthy can only think of becoming better enterprenuers while those at the middle and bottom end clearly seem to follow the same cycle. In another 1000 years, what will be written ? It may seem harsh but true. These are some thots: Why did time stand still? Why people cannot see this and know we have place in history. I think the next time one thinks of blaming doctors, lawyers of being too commercially driven despite taking oaths to their professions to serve human kind, know this : They are just doing what was taught to them i.e entreprenuership and investments. They will not improve or enchance their fields of expertise except those driven by eg Universities. To take this argument even further, what is corruption if not an extension of entreprenuership because people place themselves in positions to practise self financial empowerment through various mis-deeds. I ask you these straight questions. Did you invent fire? No! Did you invent gun powder? No! Did you go to your metal foundry today and create a bronze or metal device to further human kind? No! Did you do anything at all in the Information Age...... No! So keeping it simple and some food for thought for those who have a deeper thinking on issues. As usual, the disclaimer I can add is that these are just my amatuer views. Rgds. :-)

On a lighter note ..... Its not about invention, its about survival .. moving up the food chain ... to that you literally "eat" those who thought that y'all in the same level of the chain or same species Eg. Grass <---- Goat <---- Simple Kenyan <------ Politician <------- Coalition Partners <------ Ocampo ... the chain is endless God created grass. The Kenyan only tends the land where the grass will grow , provides vet services, a pen for the goat to sleep etc (read environment) where the goat will eat not knowing that it is being controlled. The politician on the other hand pretends to provide the Kenyan with the so called Sovereignty, freedom of this and that an environment for the Kenya to produce .. then once the produce is harvested the politician practically lives off the Kenyan .. yet they are the same species .. let me not talk about the coalition partners .. my position in the food chain (between Goat and Simple Kenyan) does not allow me to talk about those at the top end of the chain lest I get eaten up Moral of the story ... Why should one waste his/her brain time trying to invent when I can live off those who have already invented or those who actively produce by 1. directly controlling them or 2. creating (or pretending to create) an environment where I can control them or 3. simple corrupting them (like in Kenya). 4. The higher up the food chain one is, the better the chances of survival...

LOL!

@Thomas :-) ... I wonder what the argument must have been in the Iron age, if skunks list was operational?

At the same time, I see this question online oftenly: 1. Why is it that the agrarian and Industrial revolutions happened in EuroAsia but not in Africa. 2. Why is it that till this moment, Africa is not actively involved in R&D and its own manufacturing. Most of our manufacturing is based on R&D from other countries.

@Dennis, some thots and general comments... :-) For thousands of years, the pretenders and self-denialists of "we have just become a modern world, young nations need time and money" would have done something but they did not. No, not even in the Information Age where excuses are similar to that of the years gone by, almost everyone is re-living the same story. If you ask me, there is no difference between the genetics of Einstein and us yet we all know what took place. From Physics to Chemistry to Medicine. Yet, recently Bubonic plague was reported in some place in Uganda. This is the same plague that almost wiped out Europe and other nations. You would wonder that such have been eradicated in these modern times. From the great structures in Egypt to the Aztecs, to the Ethiopian Obelix shows signs of true engeering. The rest, as @Thomas put it is between the grass and the goat even quite realistically carried forward to the Information Age. The Congo Kingdown openly practised slavery even before the early explorers started using it yet it is explorers generations who eventually stopped slavery. I'm quite sorry to have written this impolite or offensive thread, but sincerely hope that some of us can search deep down and wake up from our butts to do things. Or accept the concept of the grass/goat and life can continue as it was. No offense nor ill-feelings intended, just some food for thot. Rgds. there are various hypotheses, this is one of the popular ones : <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guns,_Germs,_and_Steel>

Its not about time & money. Its about ....gears that should run like clock work. You see a country like dot KE is made up of gears. The transport gear - Is not yet capable of delivering the countries work force to their productivity stations economically and on time say like chinese maglev or jap bullet train would. The power gear - Is charging us for blackouts and surges - again, expensively compared to our income. Hell its theoretically possible to go one month without power and you will be billed. Jokes aside this raises the cost of production and R&D The Education Gear - Is trying its best to cope. lecturers have to supplement their income and focus less on the subject at hand ->R&D in universities. The Nyayo Pioneer was a product of the UoN in the 80's.....man those were the days The Political Gear -Is currently trying to save it's hide from the Italian. In any case it just doesn't care... And the list goes on and on and on and........................
