@Thomas :-)  ... I wonder what the argument must have been in the Iron age, if skunks list was operational?

On a lighter note .....   Its not about invention, its about survival ..  moving up the food chain ...   to that you literally "eat" those who thought that y'all in the same level of the chain or same species

Eg.      Grass <----  Goat <---- Simple Kenyan   <------ Politician <------- Coalition Partners <------ Ocampo ... the chain is endless

God created grass.  The Kenyan only tends the land where the grass will grow , provides vet services, a pen for the goat to sleep etc (read environment) where the goat will eat not knowing that it is being controlled.

The politician on the other hand pretends to provide the Kenyan with the so called Sovereignty, freedom of this and that  an environment for the Kenya to produce .. then once the produce is harvested  the politician practically lives off the Kenyan .. yet they are the same species ..

let me not talk about the coalition partners .. my position in the food chain (between Goat and Simple Kenyan) does not allow me to talk about those at the top end of the chain lest I get eaten up

Moral of the story ...   Why should one waste his/her  brain time trying to invent when I can live off those who have already invented or those who actively produce  by

  1.  directly controlling them or
  2. creating (or pretending to create)  an environment where I can control them or
  3. simple corrupting them (like in Kenya).

The higher up the food chain one is, the better the chances of survival...
