viva.co.ke - shady and/or shoddy?

They say that if I invest Ksh. 5K per month I can make over Ksh.100,000 per month...haiya! 1. Has anyone on the list used (or is using) this service? http://viva.co.ke/ 2. Is the Premium SMS business still viable? 3. Does the website look a bit shady and/or shoddy? Claire.

I think its a genuine idea. The site is poorly done but if you can provide content and negotiate a good revenue share model, you can make some cash... question is, why not go directly to a PRS provider? David. On Fri, Jan 7, 2011 at 12:41 PM, Thomas Kibui <thomas.kibui@gmail.com>wrote:

Claire... Shoddy. Some clients had to withdraw from the same business because there wasn't revenue coming to them...(the sms 1234 and get the location, price and details of property....). Though a noble idea but 100,000/=? per month, please. -- Many Thanks. Regards, Clement Ongera.

I think 100,000 against an investment of 5000 is overrated. What about advertising - How do you tell 16 Million People that you have a certain service X. Do you need to register your business? Do you need a betting License? If the service you are selling is indeed valuable it may take some resources and effort to put together say a property listing.. You need to avail new properties... maybe even partner with a property management company. Making money through this method is possible but there are lots of considerations to make before investing here. On Fri, Jan 7, 2011 at 12:48 PM, Clement Ongera <cnongera@gmail.com> wrote:

Business valuation is more on *net* revenue... e.g. If you check Wikipedia, Apple (at 259 Billion Market Cap as of 3rd Quarter 2010) is worth more than Walmart ( at 200 odd billion). When you look at profitability, Apple is at 14 Billion Net, along with Walmart (roughly the same 14 billion) ... Walmart has annual gross revenues of 400 Billion USD, while Apple has annual revenues of 65 Billion USD... Apple is on a growth curve, not so with Walmart...
