Last evening I loaded KES 2,300 worth of credit on a Safaricom data line (0720 332211) and sent an sms to 446 to purchase a 300MB bundle. With their br0ken systems (the whole of yesterday) they could not allocate me the bundle, even though they promptly deducted the KES 999. Because I could not get the confirmation of bundle allocation (CS kept telling me to wait for 20, 30, N minutes for the confirmation to come) I decided to just plugin the SIM card and use it, hoping the bundle had been allocated but only the confirmation sms was delayed. I ended up using KES 800 of my airtime, instead of the bundle!! The whole of yesterday their system was broken down. I suffered the same during the day. Boss, Just talk to Sovaya, they will give you a good link on your location at 3k a month and you never need to have those pains again. Unless you are mobile , if you have a permanent location please dont pay so much you can get good services for less. @Odhiambo, The same happened to me last Friday. I topped up the 250 bundle and waited and waited. Then I thought that maybe it had activated but the sms was delaying. I ended up using the credit left on the SIM card. Frustratingly I called customer care(very busy number), and when I got hold of one, they admit there is a problem and that they'll look for my transaction and then nothing. Now I was bila net the whole weekend(actually I swiped my card with yu) thinking that there was a problem with Safcom. Imagine I've never been refunded that bundle or the cash just coz I can't get through the customer care "Bouncer" lines. Currently I am still afraid to buy a bundle. Damn Big Corporates!
