(Rant) Hardware - After Sales Support

Hi Guys, I recently purchased an acer netbook. Its gone down twice within the last 6 months. (I really don't have a problem with this). What I have a problem with is the kind of support i get from the vendor. 3 weeks later I am yet to get my netbook back. The vendor is also not offering me any alternatives. Given that this is a working tool I expect the following at a minimum from a vendor: - A replacement option .. while my hardware is getting fixed. - A quality of service guarantee. (that is actually met) That having been said. Does anyone know of a vendor who actually does the above. I will gladly take all my future hardware business there. After sales service and indeed customer service as a whole seems to be a foreign concept with almost all companies. I'm sure we can all relate. Seriously .. no one sees the opportunity here????? (Unless you are selling absolutely messed up hardware) as a vendor if you made a product where u charged some1 a 10% premium on the value of the purchase to guarantee them a standby hardware in the event of warranty issues. i bet you would make a neat profit. Statistically speaking all you would have to do is keep one stand by machine for every 10 units sold. It doesnt even have to be the same machine. Just a machine of comparable specs, which will be returned once the i get my hardware back. And you will get lots of brand mileage and karma points. plus you will make quite some money (given that u sell good quality hardware). Greetings Robert, Was busy, hadn't seen this post. I'll tell you this much. We do the replacement option with Elite, spares can take a while to come in and as a part of the Premium resellership, we are to accomodate our clients with a replacement while things are being taken care of. I can't brag about our quality of service however i personally haven't heard of anything bad about us other than the fact that our goods are expensive and take a while to get brought in.
