Is it ever possible for a single company to dig and lay the fibre with a crazy huge bandwidth where everybody else "hires" from this single entity? Everytime these goons dig up trenches for fibre I have to repair the fence one way or the other..... any ideas? Just a rant [?]
I think you can stop them from digging up your fence, lodge an objection. I hear there are situations where they have to drill through some people's compounds as they can't dig through. As for them sharing fibre, doesn't look like will happen soon - they keep engaging in anti-competitive practices like overcharging each other, taking years to service a request, aggressively targeting clients served by a competitor on shared fibre etc Is it ever possible for a single company to dig and lay the fibre with a crazy huge bandwidth where everybody else "hires" from this single entity? Tunnels for sewerage, electricity, gas, internet..... would reduce all this weirdness. The key word being "planning"! But as always, most govt's tend to be slow in adoption and implementation of technology requiring the private sector to take the lead.
