WOW at last here comes the complaint I most waited. We have been having trouble with our internet and Access kenya for a while and Gosh its up its down its up its down its up and very slow. We used to cherish it but I don know what happened and the trend started after the Fiber Cut issue and the service never came back, we have tried to settle with them wapi. theirs everything is ok. I understand there is a broadcast storm making RSTP kill most connections so users cannot authenticate and active connections get dropped. @Job, We have been patient, but patience has its limits. 3-weeks and still running, they need to call in outside help - people like John Gitau could give them some insight into what could be ailing their network! It's more like that moment when you know yo've reached your /etc and need a third eye. They could have brilliant engineers in there, but such moments when everyone has clogged eyes always surfaces and an outsider with a much clearer mind, who's not used to the environment would easily help them pinpoint the snag. Again most people when they started offering metro Ethernet services went the "kienyeji way". Very few guys start off with scalability in mind, no plan , no documentation etc so something like this even when foreseen is left unresolved. If the issue is Vlans' related it means interesting things are happening at the core. It won't get any easier without them investing some or if they are lucky they have a responsive vendor. This is a public listed company so tough on their share prices too if this gets picked up by the media. apart from a full rebuild and mass migrations I don't see how this will be resolved. A bandaid might work but soon this issue will recur. Just bloody move. Or form a proper lobbying body, or look for one that exists to help get recompense. Again .. You get what you pay for. Move to safaricom, a bit expensive but well things work on their metro Ethernet service. Jtl is also a good option that I know works and at least has the wherewithal to work on their issues. And yes I think I see a bunch of scalable network design classes coming up. Disclaimer. I have no idea what the issue is. Like everyone else I'm just throwing words around. We used to cherish it but I don know what happened and the trend started after the Fiber Cut issue and the service never came back, we have tried to settle with them wapi. theirs everything is ok. So we have decided Kuhama. At least we not alone.
