#Google is thinking of taking Operating systems to the next level "ON THE WEB". Your computer will no longer load your Operating system. * Google Chrome OS -* a Linux-based operating system designed by Google to work exclusively with web applications. Is this the future of computing? Should programmers be studying and building apps in anticipation for this next technological shift or will users still favor Operating systems that are resident in their computers? or is this another one of Google's failed projects? My take is: I love my OS however slow or fast it is and I don't ever want to be dependent on the internet to work on my computer in any case most of my work -> coding is offline, I only use my browser to network and research. So I will politely say no to the Google Chrome Os in favour of Ubuntu, OSX and Windows (in that order) Weblink: http://www.google.com/chromebook/#features Kibui Kenneth Maina,* * * * *Tel:* +254 (0) 721 173 780 *Blog:* Opticom Solutions<http://opticomsolutions.blogspot.com/> *Website*: kit-b.com <http://www.kit-b.com> *Twitter:* @mainakibui<https://twitter.com/#%21/mainakibui> * * *Tools I Use:* Joomla, PHP, MYSQL, Learning Python, Amazon cloud hosting, WHM, Cpanel, Adobe CS4, Dreamweaver, Cent OS, Linux, Windows, Networking, Hardware, VM Ware.

Web based does not equal internet dependent. You will still be able to work offline.

NB: Disclaimer on their page * Obviously, you're going to need a wireless network, be willing to use it subject to the provider's terms and conditions, and be ready to put up with its real life limitations including, for example, its speed and availability. When you do not have network access, functionality that depends on it will not be available. their idea is for you to have all your stuff in the cloud docs, music n all no storing things on your local machine. thinking about introducing *Beta* *wife *to it, she needs to move away from the familiar frame viewer and dive in to something more.. robust. Though that being said, i might wait for the frame viewer to reach version 8. It seems promising. Curious. Mentioning girlfriend 17.0 has any geek man on list ever called theirs a *docking station* or perhaps by mistake *wife beta ?* ( this is not a sexist comment. It is simply a social study question. ) * W.* On Mon, Oct 10, 2011 at 7:08 PM, Kibui Maina <mainakibui@gmail.com> wrote:
