Advanced Introduction to ICT
Packages in Content development and instructional design
Softwares navigation e.g online registration and inquiries, computerized timetable drawing tools
Internet navigation and E-learning software utilization commands

Whoever invited you to it should define the SCOPE of the training. Anyway, I fail to establish a distinction between "teachers, dept heads and managers" in a school, be it public or private. Dept heads are still teachers. Who are these managers? The SCOPE: 1. Their personal literacy and how ICT can help them achieve efficiency in their defined functions. I could expound on this but I am not a teacher. In summary, it's better to ask them what they do, how they do it and interpret that into how embracing ICT can help improve on their current methods of doing things, thus improving efficiency. Also emphasize how ICT can help them in collaboration with others doing the same things outside their schools. Show them how repetitive tasks can be eased by ICT methods. 2. Improving their lot - how ICT can help them grow their knowledge and skills 3. Benefits of ICT to the future, like achieveing Vision 3020 :-) PS: Sorry, I am high on some wine, but I hope I have helped a bit. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!

i concur its good to know what exactly will help them instead of bombarding, i have taught web design to film makers and graphic designers and it helps to know. but "vision 3020" clearly you were high lol! washington On Wed, Apr 6, 2011 at 5:59 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

The way things are going in Kenya, it's impractical to talk about Vision 2030! I find 3020 makes more sense, with the pace and will with which we are moving the National Agenda. However, I have a very strong feeling that if, one day, when all the 220 members are seated in the house, and out of some miracle, all of them are suffocated to death, then we may end up realizing everything by 2030. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!

Wash; Please read - http://www.nation.co.ke/News/regional/Ugly+noisy+and+destructive+bird+that+s... "Highly aggressive, these gregarious birds steal eggs and kill the young of chickens, ducks and guinea fowl. They attack vulnerable young goats, sheep, and cows. They kill indigenous birds and small animals"....THIS SOUNDS LIKE A DESCRIPTION OF SOME KENYAN MPs, not the ravenous birds.... Mayb we shud just send these birds into the August hse if that will guarantee attainment of vision 2030! On Thu, Apr 7, 2011 at 9:00 AM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

What? the MPs might mutate into crows, we cant risk this

To get back to the matter at hand, I would say that from my experience, base level digital literacy is what your target group require, and are receiving from multiple sources. This not withstanding, the scope should ab initio be determined by the convenor of the training. Though I wonder why you have to "develop" your own curriculum for this target group,I would say there are sufficient sources from both open source and proprietary organizations. Here are some sources you can think about, forming a baseline foundation. Microsoft Digital Literacy http://www.microsoft.com/about/corporatecitizenship/citizenship/giving/progr... Google ICT Literacy http://www.teachparentstech.org/ Open University http://www.*open*.ac.uk <http://www.open.ac.uk> On Thu, Apr 7, 2011 at 9:44 AM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:
