Hi, Is there anyone who can help me understand whats the correlation between KDN and swiftglobal + friday? It seems every Friday around 11am KDN and Swiftglobal links just disappear off the grid and somewhat point at each other like playing a blame game. Which is the better ISP cum data centre can be relied on? Your advice will be highly appreciated.

The fact that responsibility and roles are not defined, no audit taken on problems and who should have been responsible. Swift Global do not pay their customers for downtime, KDN does not pay Swift global for down time, the moment that people start been paid , things will be taken seriously. How many hours does fibre downtime on Safaricom last? well , Safaricom get paid for downtime.

Dennis, Safaricom doesn't get paid for downtime they recover amounts from KDN invoices, you should see the SLA it's draconian ;-) There's also another ISP in that KDN Soup called Skyweb if I am not wrong. Kiania D. On Fri, Jun 24, 2011 at 1:14 PM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

Kiania, In that case, am suggesting that Swift Global should also be required to come up with an SLA that allows it to recover amounts against invoices. Clients too should be allowed to do the same, or get account credits for downtime. This way, downtime = financial losses = taken more seriously.
