Hello All, My employer has a research department and they asked me for assistance in procuring SAS 9.4 . I am not conversant with it and went online to look it up.
From SAS website, it seems like it is at least a three tier system (server to end user). My queries:
- Is there anyone out there that has interacted with SAS? - Does it scale down or should I also include a server along with their request? - Are there alternatives that are not as large scale as SAS? I look forward to your response :) -- __________________________________________________________________________ Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. For individual users, you can go for the SAS Enterprise Guide but for collaboration purposes you will need to include the server. Alternatives; you can consider IBM SPSS or Stata. R is also an option if the users can roll up their sleeves and get coding. On Tue, Sep 15, 2015 at 3:49 PM, Eva Kimathi via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

Any idea who's using R? I know equity had training on this but not sure if they actively use it. For SAS, get someone from Safcom to advice. On Sep 15, 2015 11:18 PM, "Vincent Mosoti via skunkworks" < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

Thank you all for the advice. The research team is primarily agriculture based...their analyst insists that Stata is for engineering and he hasn't heard of R. @Mosoti I will check the Enterprise guide, thank you @Kennedy do you know if Safcom offer analytics as a service? (I wish) I'll keep you posted. Cheers On Wed, Sep 16, 2015 at 7:12 AM, Kennedy Kairu Kariuki <kkairu@gmail.com> wrote:

They do not as if now. I wouldn't say they do analytics even after forming a department specifically for that. On Sep 16, 2015 8:10 AM, "Eva Kimathi" <evakimathi@gmail.com> wrote:

People working with medical data e.g. epidemiologists. Have a look at a system called DHIS2. The developers highly recommended the use of R.
