Hi guys I have a client of mine who has a gmail account. She has been using it for sometime and now and she has forgotten her password(she was automatically logging in),The problem is that she cannot remember the details for signing up even the day she created the account. Is it possible to get back the password without the details?

did she put in an alternative email or phone number when she created the account? On Sat, Sep 15, 2012 at 5:44 AM, james maju <jmaju4@gmail.com> wrote:

If she did put an alternative email she would have already seen the option to reset that way. Either that or if she had added a phone number too. If both arent there it's a sad situation, that's if even the security question(s) On Sat, Sep 15, 2012 at 4:20 PM, info@eastafricarecoveryexperts.com < adverts.datarecovery@gmail.com> wrote:

Your client should cease to use e-mail. Should never have used it in the first place! That's what I tell folks, honestly. If someone doesn't see the importance of a password, they should never get closer to a service/facility that requires one. Then again, perhaps I should blame the person who trained your client on the use of computers and e-mail, because either s/he forgot to emphasize the basic security drills or they were equally clueless. My suggestion is you seek out the person who helped setup the mail account and you may get the clue you need. At least she can remember the person who helped her setup the e-mail account, no? :) Yes, in line with vision 2030. Safaricom (read M-Pesa) has really done its part in promoting tech to all citizens regardless of age, education etc.. but maybe we need to do more..

What happens when she enters her username and a blank password? I guess there are red inscriptions below the pwd box looking something like "the username and password do not match" ? Has she then used the 'I can't access my account", just below the password box? Well, how has been using her gmail for whatever period she has been online? Or was it a case of "remember me" when she signed in? What password has she been entering? Smh!!! And where has she been accessing hher emails from? SERIOUSLY!!! Or maybe, when she entered her password and it appeared bullets (or *****) she actually thought one needs to to key in bullets and/or ***** instead of her password? Okay, females are unlikely to use complex cyrric heirogylphics for pwds. So I think she needs to think of soft things like pink, blue, white; names of Mexican (and the Phillipines) drama characters, musicians etc, and viola!!! Get to the browser she uses to sign in automatically then go check to saved passwords if it's Mozilla then I'll find the passwords not encrypted but if it's another you can install mozilla again and import settings and data and you will have the passwords in plain texts again. Hi guys,I have tried all the what you guys have posted but no break through. The lady was automatically logging in to her gmail account but the machine that she had been using for some time had to be formatted after a virus issue. That is when it dawned to me that she didn't know her gmail password.I am still amazed as how someone cannot remember his/her password.BTW thank you guys for the responses being posted.Any help will be highly appreciated. @James, As an aside (because you've mentioned formatting), I'd advise you to always create a backup before formatting. Use ntbackup for XP or create a system image for Win 7 and keep that on an external drive. You can then proceed with formatting after that. Such backups can be mounted on a clean machine running same version OS and even be cleaned of viruses before recovering data. A situation like the one you are in now will not easily come by. Now, bar for some complex data recovery on the formatted disk, and if the lady is NOT able to trace who helped her setup the account (who can recall the secret question or alternate address) I suggest you simply let the lady create a new account. It is simply inconceivable that she did not think about these security options, unless you are also the one who ignored these! On Mon, Sep 17, 2012 at 10:26 AM, james maju <jmaju4@gmail.com> wrote:
