Ubuntu 12.04 download

Anyone already downloaded Ubuntu 12.04? I would be happy to collect a copy anywhere around town. -- *---------------------------------------------------- Kind Regards, Evans Ikua,* lanetconsulting.com, lpi-eastafrica.org, ict-innovation.fossfa.net, Skype: @ikuae Cell: +254-722-955831

I've been running it on my daily machine since 2 days after its release. Very stable, no quirks so far. mirror.ac.ke is the fastest way to get a copy IMO...I'm not in town so I'm not in a position to help.

niko na moja but i will be in town kesho i can letea you a copy

Benjamin, is it 64 or 32 bit? I am looking for 64 On Fri, May 18, 2012 at 2:20 PM, Benjamin <anangwe@gmail.com> wrote:

@Haggai Stable. That's nice to hear. It's a word i stopped associating with Ubuntu as i fled to Mint a couple of releases back. Is that 32- or 64-bit? On Fri, May 18, 2012 at 2:45 PM, Benjamin <anangwe@gmail.com> wrote:

@amanya 64-bit both on AMD and dual-core Intel. I'm using a dual desktop setup with total resolution over 2048x2048, so I use 2D. I've not played much with the 3D desktop though it works fine the few times I've used it. Other than the graphics limitation everything else is ok. Sound, wifi and webcam works out of the box. I've tested on a HP ProBook and my old HP 6715b. -- Sent from my Android device

Given the noise surrounding previous releases I only use LTS releases, so I jumped to 12.04 from 10.04, which had served me without a hitch since I installed it May 2010. What impressed me was I could work online with wifi as it was installing. No regrets to speak of! -- Sent from my Android device

I just noticed the hotspot feature and trying to get it to work. The pc is connected via ethernet, I've got wireless and have selected the hotspot option but wireless not seen by other devices. Has anyone had the hotspot feature work? More interestingly, using a modem then using ubuntu to share the net? On May 18, 2012 6:56 PM, "Haggai Nyang" <haggai.nyang@gmail.com> wrote:

you need to delete all wireless entries network connections -> wireless, then create a new wireless connection, mode: ad-hoc,then under device mac address you have to select your wireless device , then under the ipv4 settings select "shared to other computers", save and restart your wireless.. Should work. On Fri, May 18, 2012 at 8:16 PM, Gichingiri Kuria <gmail@gichingiri.com>wrote:

I upgraded from 11.10 and the graphics has given me pure grief. I gather its a problem with the old nvidia proprietary drivers having compatibility issues with the new Xorg release. I had to downgrade Xorg till they fix that issue. other than that Am loving it. On Fri, May 18, 2012 at 8:43 PM, Collins Areba <arebacollins@gmail.com>wrote:

@Mark Mwangi This ppa might help: ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates See: http://askubuntu.com/a/139986 . Works fine with my GeForce G210 even after a number of kernel upgrades. I deliberately avoided setting up manually because of the pains of rebuilding after every Kernel update (never bothered to find a solution to this).
