Email Synchronization on Galaxy S3 Problematic

Hi Guys, I have a user who migrated from Blackberry to Galaxy S3. We've configured Exchange ActiveSync for both office email and hotmail but it does seem to be pulling emails automatically- you always have to prompt it. Some time it does pull in email automatically but most of the time it does NOT. All settings in Data Usage and Synch have been set to synch automatically and background data restriction is disabled. What else am I missing? Have you had a similar experience and how did you resolve it. Thanks Andrew www.pamojatechconsulting.com

Hi. Do you have other Android devices connecting to Activesync? Does Hotmail also behave in the same way? Please test the following for Exchange: 1. Activesync - https://testexchangeconnectivity.com 2. Security certificate services on your Exchange Server. Self signed or external? This impacts on the Exchange Proxy settings for ActiveSync. Most Android devices will complain of Self-signed certs. If you don't have an external cert, please get a free one from startssl(www.startssl.com) which will work just as well. ./Sam On Sat, Apr 6, 2013 at 4:45 PM, Andrew Mutua <mutua.andrew@gmail.com> wrote:

How about leaving out activesync and forwarding all mail to your Gmail account and then you can manage email from within Gmail. I am speaking from a point of view of a person who has never used exchange activesync on Android. Do you have any other phones you can test with or its just the 1 s3? This would help rule out the phone and you can now concentrate on the server/network. George On Thu, Apr 11, 2013 at 8:11 AM, Andrew Mutua <mutua.andrew@gmail.com>wrote:

Same here, tried with Nokia E71/ E72 some times back, works sometimes doesn't work in some other times. I'd recommend blackberry any day if the issue is emails in real time.
