@Okechukwu I have never used a similar phone model before but I'm quite certain its your phone's hardware that has an issue. If you have a warranty can't u just return it and get another one? Or is it a bug? If if it is indeed a bug, it would be very helpful if u filed and submitted it to the manufacturerer. On 25 Oct 2013 21:49, "Okechukwu" <okechukwu@gmail.com> wrote:

I saw identical problem with Samsung Galaxy Ace s5830i. Did not bother to find a fix as the reboot always helped, plus I had a second phone. Not being a doctor, I could live with it because emergencies are not there. However, it must be quite annoying and I can tell you it MUST be a hardware problem. I am using Lumia 920 running Amber and I haven't had this kind of problem. So I rule out OS and zero in on a hardware issue. RTS for warranty replacement or take to Midcom Nokia Service Centre - they handle warranty issues in KE. On 25 October 2013 22:37, Joseph Tintale <jayxtintale@gmail.com> wrote:

Chuks, I havent had that problem on my phone, maybe you can return it to the shop. Two, don't change the settings to 2G, the thing thing will have very slow connectivity to the internet. Last, you may toggle between the two modes as apparently, the 2G networks appear to be everywhere as opposed to the 3G's. But the problem seems isolated to your area. Guess I'll live with it as @Wash suggests. Bought the phone in Dubai and have no idea when I can get someone to go replace it, or maybe I just offer it for sale at OLX and transfer my problems :-( Anyway, am really glad it isn't a Windows 8 problem since I was about to lose faith in this OS, after I gave up on Android. ./Ok3ch On Sun, Oct 27, 2013 at 10:01 AM, Peter Osotsi <peter.osotsi@gmail.com>wrote:

Yes Okech, let's hear how bad Android is. And to note, people have been having issues with grey market Nokias - devices bought in other countries, or devices bought in shops that brought it in from elsewhere. Some chap discovered that his Nokia, which had lots of issues, was all rusty inside - it had had water damage. So would advice you guys to buy devices from official distributors, otherwise you may be left facing out-of-warranty issues. -- with Regards: blog.denniskioko.com <http://www.denniskioko.com/>

I find the touch on Android horrible at best. This totally drove me off any Android phone after experiencing badly with one of the best Android phones the HTC One and One X+ I needed a second phone since I couldn't walk around with 2 iPhones all the time, so on my experiment found the touch on the Windows phone very close to the touch experience on the iPhone ./Ok3ch On Tue, Oct 29, 2013 at 9:27 AM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

Yes, the Lumias have super sensitive touch, you can use them with wet hands. I'm surprised though by HTC, seems they are losing their edge.

Ok3ch, Your phone is still under warranty. Take it to MIDCOM in Westlands..<https://www.google.co.ke/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&ved=0CEgQFjAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.midcomafrica.com%2Fkenya-office%2F&ei=QOhvUrrlLoK3hAeUjIGAAg&usg=AFQjCNEnRdXWSd2U0ijsmY_9mUuxhfm9OA&sig2=o-TKI8nu9fhd0rdjNtbsOA&bvm=bv.55123115,d.ZG4> and get them to sort out the warranty issue. Ok3ch,
Your phone is still under warranty. Take it to MIDCOM in Westlands..<https://www.google.co.ke/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&ved=0CEgQFjAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.midcomafrica.com%2Fkenya-office%2F&ei=QOhvUrrlLoK3hAeUjIGAAg&usg=AFQjCNEnRdXWSd2U0ijsmY_9mUuxhfm9OA&sig2=o-TKI8nu9fhd0rdjNtbsOA&bvm=bv.55123115,d.ZG4> and get them to sort out the warranty issue. Should be fast and easy.

Chuks,
I havent had that problem on my phone, maybe you can return it to the shop. Two, don't change the settings to 2G, the thing thing will have very slow connectivity to the internet. Last, you may toggle between the two modes as apparently, the 2G networks appear to be everywhere as opposed to the 3G's. But the problem seems isolated to your area.

After experiencing the issue last Friday and consulting a high ranking Nokia official, the problem is a SIM card that is cut too close to the edge when converting to a Micro SIM. If you look carefully - you'll notice that your Micro SIM is snipped too close to one side, rather than spaced out evenly. You can have the Micro SIM replaced or try to adjust it in the slot. -- with Regards: blog.denniskioko.com <http://www.denniskioko.com/>

Or just get those factory-cut ones. QB and Airtel had them. I guess YU and Orange too.... On 17 November 2013 12:48, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

Last time I checked, only Airtel had factory cut Micro SIMs, Saf cut for you in their shop, Orange cut for you in their shop and charge you the price of a beer for it, cause you know, they are market leaders. On Sunday, 17 November 2013, Odhiambo Washington wrote:

Safcom gives you the option for a factory cut (KES 200) or 'we cut normal SIM card for you' (KES 100 or 50 - I don't recall!) I bought my first factory cut SIM from Safcom in 2010, IIRC. So they have always had them as I also remember referring some guys many times.. On 17 November 2013 12:58, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:
