USB Modem configuration file

Skunks, I use the orange 3G+ modem and I have just purchased a tp-link wireless router to share internet in my home. The issue is that it is not detecting my modem and instead asking me to Upload 3G USB Modem Configuration File. Might anyone know where I can get this ? Or has anyone done thi s before. Thanks Kevin

Yes. Go to http://www.tplink.com/en/support/3g/ and RTFM :-) -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler.

@Kevin, Pardon my deviation: If you are are in aposition to have the modem plugged into a PC running windows 7; have you considered simply creating a hotspot then sharing the internet via connectify? At least that's how I do it on my end.

You may need to downgrade connectify for that. Newer <free> versions of connectify does not allow sharing of 3G internet. On Tue, Aug 14, 2012 at 4:55 PM, Tony Likhanga <tlikhanga@gmail.com> wrote:

And Connectify is choosy about the WLAN cards it supports - at least from the last time I tried it out! On Tue, Aug 14, 2012 at 4:57 PM, Bwana Lawi <mail2lawi@gmail.com> wrote:

Maybe I'm plain lucky..... For some reason, connectify has always recognised my Orange 3G+ (Telkom CDMA EvDO) modem as a broadband connection. That's what I'm currently on; thereby saving me the blues being reported on other real 3G GSM modems.

@Tony What version of connectify is that? this worked in older versions as has been pointed out On Aug 14, 2012 6:26 PM, "Tony Likhanga" <tlikhanga@gmail.com> wrote:

I'm on Version 3.1 pro.

Thanks Peter. Its working fine. I am however experiencing much slower speeds than when I have the modem plugged in to my machine. Does anyone know if I need to have additional settings ? Regards Kevin On Wed, Aug 15, 2012 at 3:13 PM, Peter Osotsi <peter.osotsi@gmail.com>wrote:

Kevin, Go to an Orange care center nearest to you. They will show you a map detailing whether your area is fully covered by the newer modem. Not everywhere in Nairobi is covered. The newer modem has limited coverage, in some instances, a good location in a room in a poor coverage area improves speeds, or you buy an antennae that you hung outside to improve reception. I would advise you talk to Orange-Telkom first. Regards Peter On Wed, Aug 15, 2012 at 5:27 PM, Kevin Omondi <kevin.ouma@gmail.com> wrote:
