After KDN was overrun by South Africans, they replaced their execs and key people started quiting. This could be related to the problems you are experiencing. As David says, switch to zuku. Their fibre is now behaving well. I was watching hulu.com (thru a proxy) on a 1 mega zuku connection - it didn't stutter and it cost only a thao/mo!
A rare kudos to Zuku from here too. After a few hair-pulling experiences after my 8MbTurbo package was installed on HFC where initially could only get 16kbps for a whole 3 weeks, whatever they did (after screaming at everyone in support....sorry guys :) ) sorted out the problem. I have been getting a CIR of 4Mbps/1Mbps for close to 20 hours/day! It more often than not gives me a cool 7.5Mbps downlink without breaking. Now, for 3k/month, I dare say that's a deal I can go through hell for a couple of days a month. I just wish they could solve their cable modem hanging problem when you do massive downloads for long. Just to update you. The instability affecting KDN's IP/MPLS Services through our Sameer network hub has been resolved since early morning. We are currently monitoring the network to ensure all services are stable and the incidence does not recur. The instability affecting KDN's IP/MPLS Services through our Sameer network hub has been resolved since early morning.
We are currently monitoring the network to ensure all services are stable and the incidence does not recur.
A detailed report will be availed once conclusive investigations by our engineers together with the equipment vendors are complete.

After a few hair-pulling experiences after my 8MbTurbo package was installed on HFC where initially could only get 16kbps for a whole 3 weeks, whatever they did (after screaming at everyone in support....sorry guys :) ) sorted out the problem. I have been getting a CIR of 4Mbps/1Mbps for close to 20 hours/day! It more often than not gives me a cool 7.5Mbps downlink without breaking. Now, for 3k/month, I dare say that's a deal I can go through hell for a couple of days a month. I just wish they could solve their cable modem hanging problem when you do massive downloads for long.

As David says, switch to zuku. Their fibre is now behaving well. I was watching hulu.com (thru a proxy) on a 1 mega zuku connection - it didn't stutter and it cost only a thao/mo!
