I don't think its possible for ISP to block tethering. But sometimes back, I tried to share my internet using orange and when I put the orange simcard in my iphone, the internet tethering settings became disabled and I couldnt úse the iphone internet on my computer since the tethering settings are required for it to work. I thought it was a problem with the phone but it did the same for all orange sim cards, but the options became enabled when I used an airtel or safcom or YU sim card. The only way to block is by doing it in the android system. I remember when I first got my android phone from t-mobile I could only tether when connected to t-mobile. Tethering when connected other networks was locked at firmware level. On Mon, Jun 24, 2013 at 11:03 AM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

It is possible by the way for them to do that; although would take some work. What they would do is use the TTL value on packets, so they know how many hops the packet has made to reach their first router. Would be 1 from the phone itself and 2 from other things connected to the phone, three for packets that have gone through two routers na kadhalika, obviously some devices mask this so ..., but its a start and some UK ISPs used to do that on modem connections for "personal" use. in this day and age, no need for that, especially if they charge per MB - let them use as much as they want and bill them :) On 24 June 2013 10:35, Gichuki John Chuksjonia <chuksjonia@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Skunks, This problem is spinning my head yet i am sure someone may have done it. Company X netiates with an employee a net pay earning. They want to calculate backwards the gross pay based on the net pay. The deductions affecting the netpay are NSSF (200), NHIF(320)and the PAYE. How can i determine the PAYE and then the gross pay? Regards Shadrack

I wouldn't bother with the gross pay:) On 24 June 2013 11:09, Shadrack Mwaniki <shadrack_mwaniki@yahoo.com> wrote:

For the algorithm, Let Y be the gross pay and Z be the net pay. Form an equation of how one calculates the net pay from a gross pay of Y. Expression the equation in terms of Z. i.e. Y=Z + somevalues - somevalues. If you replace your Z(net pay) with some value, then you should get your gross pay. For PAYE there are some already set values in a table depending on the amount one is earning. You should be able to get that once you have the table. You can add an intermediate value called taxable Income say M where M=Y - NSSF - NHIF. Based on the Taxable Income get the PAYEE. Therefore Z=M-PAYEE But M=Y - NSSF - NHIF Therefore Z=Y - NSSF - NHIF - PAYEE Y= Z + NSSF + NHIF + PAYEE Depending on how the PAYEE table is try to express PAYEE in terms of the Z. I hope that helps. I think the rough calculation to get net pay = *(Gross Pay * 0.7) + 5600* * * Work backwards from that to get gross pay! On Mon, Jun 24, 2013 at 12:51 PM, Richard Gathogo <muraguri2005@gmail.com>wrote:

@Shadrack, Here's the excel sheet I promised to share.

For the algorithm, you only need to know the taxation bands + corresponding rates, applicable deductions & relief values. I have an excel sheet tucked somewhere that does the same. If this aint homework as Young Techie reckons, I can avail it later on for your peeping.

Shadrack you can try this maybe it works. On 24 June 2013 11:09, Shadrack Mwaniki <shadrack_mwaniki@yahoo.com> wrote:

@BB... since you never mentioned what goods you are interested in, I'll stick to vehicles :) Check the KRA website. http://www.kra.go.ke/index.php/downloads/customs-downloads/customs-downloads There's a popular duty calculator (for imported vehicles). Good luck if you find a similar sheet for other imported goods :) Tony.

Addendum : In the strictest sense of the term *'Import Duty'*, it appears that there's some common applicable EAC tariff structure as explained in the FAQ #1 on KRA website <http://www.kra.go.ke/customs/faqcustoms.html> The classification of goods as well as the applicable rates are detailed here <http://www.kra.go.ke/customs/pdf/EAC%20Externaltariff2007.pdf>

Thanks Tony, There only seem to be a calculator for cars duty I was hoping I d get a similar Net PAY calc that you just enter the value of the goods then it calculates the rest. 1. DUTY 10% / 15% / 25% .......... 2. VAT 16% 3. IDF FEES 2.25% 4. Inspection fee n. Total On Fri, Jun 28, 2013 at 3:06 PM, Tony Likhanga <tlikhanga@gmail.com> wrote:

-- Sent from my Voice Recognition Watch© -------------------------------------------------------------------- Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.As we let our own light shine, we consciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
