Hi? Is there any of the above on skunkworks? I witnessed a very crazy incident at one branch yesterday. There was this lady infront of me and after her shopping had been calculated she removed a voucher which was accepted but LO !!! she was told she had to spend the whole amount.... A commotion ensued and I wondered what was going on.....her shopping looked like less 1k....then I saw the voucher 5,000/=!! The Manger came in and she was told she had to spend the whole amount immediately or she forfeits the balance. Her bill was 980/= She was even told they dont sell AIRTIME !!! Now in this era and from experience from Nakumatt & possibly Uchumi...they give out credit reciepts with which you are given 15-30 days to spend it.....(bright idea) this keeps you coming back....... I happen to have contributed to making a voucher application. I remember that it had a transactions table where among other things, it listed an customer details, IP address, who served the customer, what time, what they bought etc etc and most importantly their balance(with a suggestion of what they can redeem for). So the TUSKYS ICT stuff should recheck their voucher application, and offer to pay the customer for their mistakes, because clearly this is a mistake that should NOT happen.

Kennedy, The issue here is not change but what if you don't want to spend it all at one go? Do you really have to do shopping worth kes 5000 and @ the time you only need goods worth kes 980. This is clearly a software issue that just needs a simple rectification. Or.... The manager instead of being an $$$ - should just have retained the voucher - and write her a receipt for the balance.... Yeah, there are rules - but these are guidelines, they are not the 10 commandments.. And then the manager would advise her to plan and spend the remaining Ksh. 4020/- the next time she comes so they can avoid complications... This way, they will keep not one, but other customers.. Secondly, the manager should report to those who made the voucher software, and the necessary correction made and implemented, if not now, then in time.
I like all these comments. The most interesting thing here, is that we are holding the manager accountable for the existing laws within the chain store, while the woman carries the day.
