Good People, I have had a very 'interesting' occurrence. My Safaricom and MPesa menu is gone...vanished! I have checked everywhere even on the phone settings because I thought the menu might have moved, but it is nowhere! Brief history of the problem. 1.0 I had switched to a SIM card from a different service provider for about 2 weeks. 2.0 Upgraded my phone to Android 4.2.2 What I have done so far. 1.0 Restarted the phone several times. 3.0 Put my SIM card on another phone - it works perfectly! Anyone else with the same problem?

On a lighter note. Stick to the other phone. On Tue, Dec 10, 2013 at 3:58 PM, Moses M.G <mouzmuyer@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks people! @Job ...Lol! I would have to permanently 'borrow' the second phone from it's owner! @Brian ....do you have a 'reputable' source that you have used? Could you please share it here? @Dennis..I didn't 'flash' it. The phone vendor notified me that an update was available so I just accepted it. It was downloaded and installed automatically. At first I didn't need Mpesa since I was using another number, so I didn't notice it was missing until yesterday. On 10 December 2013 16:03, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

Call Safcom, usually mpesa/safaricom menus are an app sent to your phone :) - i stand to be corrected []. I updated my MENU using same method and mine didnt vanish. Maybe share phone make.

Your problem is possibly that you don't have the Simtoolkit.apk installed. This is the app that is used to access the app resident on the SIM card. The over the air update is for updating the Sim card app not the .apk. I would follow the advice of looking for the SIM toolkit .apk and install it. This is likely to sort you out. Hi, I had the same problem, but with custom ROMs at version 4.3 and 4.4. While the stk app is on the phone, I got it working (quite interestingly) by enabling the SIM PIN request on boot. Weird enough, its worked as a perfect solution to the stk issue on my various ROMs. It may hopefully work in your case too. Cheers! @JDSKKJ Thanks for the tip, some guys at XDA have also been having the same issue and we couldn't figure why. Will share with them and see of solves their issues. On Friday, 27 December 2013, John Doe Smith Kamau KipNg'etich Jones wrote:
Hi,
I had the same problem, but with custom ROMs at version 4.3 and 4.4. While the stk app is on the phone, I got it working (quite interestingly) by enabling the SIM PIN request on boot. Weird enough, its worked as a perfect solution to the stk issue on my various ROMs. It may hopefully work in your case too.
Cheers!

Brief history of the problem.
1.0 I had switched to a SIM card from a different service provider for about 2 weeks. 2.0 Upgraded my phone to Android 4.2.2
What I have done so far.
1.0 Restarted the phone several times. 3.0 Put my SIM card on another phone - it works perfectly!
Anyone else with the same problem?
Call Safcom, usually mpesa/safaricom menus are an app sent to your phone :) - i stand to be corrected []. I updated my MENU using same method and mine didnt vanish. Maybe share phone make.

I had the same issue and the fix was simple, the stk should be flashed with the same files as the phone, so simply open the ROM zip and look for the application folder, you can remove everything and put in the stk there, the stk can be from any android rom but for the same version e.g. if it's 4.1 get a 4.1 stk, then zip the new files and save on the mem card and flash, kindly Google the process, but if you wanna u can open the zip copy stk and flash the entire ROM, and always look for the app list if the ROM doesn't have stk, just copy it in....let me know if it works On Dec 28, 2013 4:28 PM, "Dennis Kioko" <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

I have had the same problem for a while. I got a T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G that wont install the SIM Toolkit App. I got the advice to flash the ROM with a caveat that some apps may not function thereafter. I opted out hoping to get a less risky solution some time. On Sat, Jan 4, 2014 at 6:39 PM, Muhile Abdulaziz <abdulaziz.muhile@gmail.com

Status update... Safaricom SIM toolkit does not like encrypted devices! After tinkering with my phone for 2 months to get why the SIM toolkit was not available, I decided to remove the device encryption by restoring the phone to factory settings! MPesa is now available after the exercise! I know it's less secure but hey, I'm not the President of Kenya, there are probably no secrets to be revealed from my phone! :) On a light note...you guys can send some cash to me to see whether Mpesa is REALLY working! :) On 6 January 2014 13:54, Norman Boinett <nboinett@gmail.com> wrote:
I have had the same problem for a while. I got a T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G that wont install the SIM Toolkit App. I got the advice to flash the ROM with a caveat that some apps may not function thereafter. I opted out hoping to get a less risky solution some time.
