Consider implementing the following on an enterprise wide scale: 1. *An Equipment Agreement. <https://copy.com/iBIo84MgvrxA>* 2. *AppTec360° Mobile Management. <http://www.apptec360.com/en_home.html>* AppTec develops in-house & cloud based Mobility Management solutions for the challenges that face firms when managing applications, configuration & security of smart phones and tablets. *(A free license for 25 devices.)* 3. *PacketFence. <http://www.packetfence.org/>* A fully supported, trusted, free & open source network access control (NAC) solution. *(Do you want to efficiently handle guests on your network? Is your network a breeding ground for computer worms and viruses? Can anyone connect to your network without your knowledge? If so, PacketFence is for you.)* On the laptops themselves, think about configuring: 1. *A boot up password.* Put access to the laptop under lock & key *(figuratively speaking).* 2. *A bios password.* Lock up the laptop hardware & enhance security of the same. Hi all, Thanks for the feedback but may be I need to elaborate. What I am looking is a better way to manage recording of laptops (both from staff and visitor) at the entry points. Most building now require you register your laptop when going in and check it out when leaving (think KRA/Times Tower). I need a better way to manage that rather than using a "black book". any ideas? Consider implementing the following on an enterprise wide scale: An Equipment Agreement. AppTec360° Mobile Management. AppTec develops in-house & cloud based
Mobility Management solutions for the challenges that face firms when managing applications, configuration & security of smart phones and tablets. (A free license for 25 devices.)
PacketFence. A fully supported, trusted, free & open source network access control (NAC) solution. (Do you want to efficiently handle guests on your network? Is your network a breeding ground for computer worms and viruses? Can anyone connect to your network without your knowledge? If so, PacketFence is for you.) On the laptops themselves, think about configuring: A boot up password. Put access to the laptop under lock & key (figuratively speaking). A bios password. Lock up the laptop hardware & enhance security of the same.
