You can wipe the blackberry under Options -> Security Options -> General Settings Then access full menu and choose wipe. This will clear all data from your phone so its best you backup your contacts and messages first. This is what will happen when you get to 10 tries and there is no other way to clear the password.
Yeah,a friend set a password which they can't recall and they cant afford to lose the data in it. It's a 8310 Series I cant even access the menu items as it keeps on prompting for the unlock password.On trying to backup data from the phone thru' the BlackBerry Desktop Manager,the password prompting continues when the phone is discovered through usb - meaning I cant even backup as the backup tab is disabled.Any further ideas. Honestly speaking, how can someone 4get their password? If it's not password1 and not password2 and not password3, then it must be passwordN, but the number of attempts on the device is limited. Philip, If you cant afford to loose data, you shouldnt afford to loose a password. Open the battery cover, under the battery, you will find a link written "Forgot Password?" Click there and you will get instructions on how to reset the password. Please note that you cant see this link unless the battery is connected to the phone. Hi Which operator are you using, call them up and they should help you recover your password.
