@job: if am not wrong, it depends: if you buy say 1 Mbps and its shared link then its not illegal to resell the same link, but there is a restriction of re-selling the link to only 80% of its capacity. However if you buy a dedicated 1Mbps they shouldn't resell that link. Meaning that if you do speed tests at any randon time they should always be within + or - a few Mbps of 1 meg. -----Original Message----- From: Job Muriuki Sent: 13/01/2011, 10:56 am To: Skunkworks Mailing List Subject: Re: [Skunkworks] Best ISP Speaking about ISPs is it illegal to resell bandwidth and can someone get authorization (written) from them? -- Regards, Job Njogu Muriuki, Phone: (+254) - 772333075 | 736333075 Skype: heviejob | Yahoo: heviejob Address: 42665 00100 Nrb

Speaking about ISPs is it illegal to resell bandwidth and can someone get authorization (written) from them?

I Agree with you Philip on Safaricom. I have the 1Mbps link and its splendid. Havent had a thing to complain about. My installation was successfully and professionally carried out by Fireside, http://www.fireside.co.ke/ who are among the official resellers of the Safaricom Wimax installations. You could visit the site and call the number on the website for further details. Again my recommendation is purely from experience. -tyrus On Thu, Jan 13, 2011 at 12:17 PM, Kelvin <kjayanoris@gmail.com> wrote:

Amazing just how complicated choosing an ISP can get,... Kelvin i have tried Airtel and it not for any techie... I have like 10 modems for use by my colleagues while away from the office. They work yes but if you are looking for a link that can upload websites , download movies / music... airtel is in the 19th Century. Safaricom has gotten quite some credit in this thread ... They are staying true to their vow to concentrate on business. On Thu, Jan 13, 2011 at 12:34 PM, ty <tyruskam@gmail.com> wrote:

A totally dissatisfied former KDN client thru a certain octopus ICT solutions company. Its a pure con game. This thingy called the BOX service is a con. Imagine paying 15k deposit, the link doesn't work...uptime(20%) then they tell you there a buildings blocking their BTS,and promptly disconnect n carry their equipment. Lodged a refund claim and it's now 5 months hearing "we are waiting to hear from KDN" story. NEVER TRY THE BOX LINK...IT'S A PURE CON GAME! Since this thread always goes past the 20 replies mark, I think Its time synovate/infotrack or some college student saved you all some time by doing a survey on the best ISP while you work. That way you will have a reference and a person to blame. On Thu, Jan 13, 2011 at 3:56 PM, Mike M. <mmycool@gmail.com> wrote:
