Safcom dudes, it's annoying when u automatically deduct airtime!

When a data bundle runs out, Safcom automatically start deducting airtime without u're knowledge, at the normal data rate. They used to send an SMS that the data is about to get finished but that doesn't seem to happen nowadays, at least the last 2-3 months for me! Pliz Safcom dudes, that's just annoying! 8~(

Its a gain that you do not know about the transition from data bundle to normal browsing.. I usually buy the 20 bob bundle per day;; but before that confirmation SMS kujas; Safcom will swallow 10 bob in a matter of seconds; Which has held my suspicion for a long time that handshake between Phone and Network is being charged by Safcom nowadays; rather than actual Internet payload [?][?]

they also used to alert you when your voice credit is about to run out but nowadays the call just disconnects. On Tue, Mar 15, 2011 at 10:06 AM, ndungu stephen <ndungustephen@gmail.com>wrote:

Cost cutting on who ??? Cos it sounds like cost transfer; it really doesnt cost the network anything to send an alert SMS; considering SMS is not sent on the usual traffic channel but on free unused signalling/control channels... Anyway; they didnt say sending alerts is a tarriff; so I guess we have to adjust... BTW, Orange 3G may be coming soon..

Yeah, i already think the Orange 2.5G/evdo technology is pretty good..So their 3G should be something to really look forward to. How soon is soon??I know they are doing antenna swaps in most places in Nairobi at alarming speeds. On Wed, Mar 16, 2011 at 11:59 PM, ndungu stephen <ndungustephen@gmail.com>wrote:
