Cost cutting on who ??? Cos it sounds like cost transfer; it really doesnt cost the network anything to send an alert SMS;

considering SMS is not sent on the usual traffic channel but on free unused signalling/control channels...

Anyway; they didnt say sending alerts is a tarriff; so I guess we have to adjust... BTW,
