Hi guys, when carrying electronics in checked in luggage, is there a proof way to ensure that it passes through JKIA/OR Tambo without being picked out of your bag. I shrink wrapping the luggage enough? -- with Regards: blog.denniskioko.com <http://www.denniskioko.com/>

If you cannot put it in your carry on bag, ensure the checked in luggage is secured by a padlock. That way If your luggage is broken, you can take it up with the airline. Otherwise take travel insurance. Jubillee has a cover of less than 3k On 09/07/2014, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

May help. Odds are that those folks ahev found a way around that as well. The main thing is to make yourself be an undesirable target. It actually depends on what type of suitcase you have. I have a high end delsey with double zip and always checkin my laptop in it and have never experienced any issue in the last one and a half years of monthly travels - If its too easy for them, they will open it and take your stuff. The wrapping is a deterrent though and recommended. ./Okech On Wed, Jul 9, 2014 at 8:21 PM, Mwendwa Kivuva <Kivuva@transworldafrica.com> wrote:

Dennis ,
From my experience in Aviation IT & Travels , the surest way is to carry valuables by hand in a carry case/hand luggage *(For Your Eyes Only ) *. However the other alternative is to confirm your luggage weight during check in . i.e if you checked in with 30KG of Luggage tell the airline handlers to weigh the bag on arrival at your destination Airport before leaving . If it is less the Airline can and will pay for missing valuables in that bag. Trick is *X KG In = X KG Out . *

Mwenda, if you check the Delsey on Amazon, some have a keylock where the suitcase cannot be opened at all without a key or very hard force (sledgehammer). On Thursday, 10 July 2014, Mwendwa Kivuva <Kivuva@transworldafrica.com> wrote:

@Mwendwa maybe you are very right and my 1+ year traveling with the suitcase is very wrong - I leave that for all others to judge. ./Ok3ch On Thu, Jul 10, 2014 at 11:10 AM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

Dennis ,
From my experience in Aviation IT & Travels , the surest way is to carry valuables by hand in a carry case/hand luggage *(For Your Eyes Only ) *. *

It actually depends on what type of suitcase you have. I have a high end delsey with double zip and always checkin my laptop in it and have never experienced any issue in the last one and a half years of monthly travels - If its too easy for them, they will open it and take your stuff. The wrapping is a deterrent though and recommended.
