Re: [Skunkworks] Equity (Finserve) vs Safaricom (M-Pesa)

Bob Collymore last week had different opinion .... saying that the thin sim could even compromise your primary sim.... Technophobic Kenyans were up in arms.... This is because this does not hinder the functionality of the primary sim, what it does is that it makes a single sim phone a dual sim phone. Therefore I think the sim locking situation will not affect its functionality. Thin SIM is a thin layer of plastic with circuit printed on it. A user can stick it to his existing SIM and continue using the original network, with the added functionality of the second provider. I see so much possibility on this Thin SIM technology. We can have micro-service providers with innovators providing SIM based services targeted to a demographic of choice. I can't wait for this with equity promising a maximum of 25bob for PESA transactions. I'm thinking if the phone is locked, would Thin SIM still be possible? But according to today's paper there is nothing that can be compromised. Enough tests have been done to confirm the same.
