Skunks, Im sure you have been following the news in regards to facebook rolling out voice capability in its fb messenger platform first in the US and as of today in the UK ( i presume it is a matter of weeks before it goes global. This move sees it not only going up against Skype, but mobile network operators too. Facebook has somewhere in the region of one billion users, and letting them call each other directly through Facebook may be a game changer. Is this the beginning of the end for voice or are we likely to see a reversal where if a consumer buys specific data bundles he gets free voice minutes..just thinking. Cheers Kevin

How many have Google accounts and make use of voice chat? ./bernard On Mar 25, 2013 4:25 PM, "Kevin Omondi" <kevin.ouma@gmail.com> wrote:

+1 I don't want to be proved wrong afterwards, but I don't see FB users "talking". There is some false sense of privacy in typing what is in your mind than talking it out. Anyway, I'm yet to understand why FB is introducing voice, They must be knowing something we don't. I personally don't even like using FB chat or googlechat on the gmail interface. My chats are out on an app that supports multiple login to google/yahoo/msn... I am yet to start using hangout.... On 25 March 2013 16:32, Bernard Mwagiru <bmwagiru@gmail.com> wrote:

For what it is worth, may I introduce you to WebRTC. [1] It is a technology being pushed by Mozilla, Opera and Google which actually allows browsers to ''speak'' to each other. Not bad, if mobile operators can allow you to log into your number and receive calls and messages on PC, or silmutaneously have your phone and browser ring. On 25 Mar 2013 20:10, "Stephen" <wanjaustev@gmail.com> wrote:
