Hi Skunks, Anyone know whether Lucene can work with JDK 1.4.x? Official docs say use JDK 5 or 6. KR, Loki "Excellent people exceed expectations".

try building it from source on jdk 1.4 and run the unit tests ... if the unit tests succeed -- you will have your answer. ashok

If that doesnt work out ... you can look at using the lucene webservice... http://lucene-ws.sourceforge.net run lucene with lucene-ws on a box with jdk 1.5 ... and then access the lucene via the WS from your jdk1.4 app ... ashok

Will look into this also. Was also considering running Solr as a search engine option. Though I'm looking for something that will give me tight coupling with my current Java App server that's running on JDK1.4.x. Also looking into something called Autonomy. It's alot like Solr, except it runs as a thirdparty app on my Java app server Weblogic.
