PetrolTracker: some housekeeping...

A few ground rules to make this whole process fun: - As will hopefully become clear in a moment, there are many critical non-programming areas in this project. No one should feel excluded in any way. - If you want to participate, and I hope you do, then there should be a way for you to participate. If there is no obvious way, then create a way for you to participate. - We're all here to learn and build each other up. You're good in this and I'm good in that, you have what I want and I have what you want. If we play this right, we all end up the better for it. - No one gets put down for not knowing and asking. - It isn't a crime to make a mistake, as long as we "fail fast" and learn from it even faster. - There is not one *right* way for doing something, just different trade-offs involved in decision-making. I hope we'll be able to "think aloud" and try to justify the decisions we make. It isn't a choice between right and wrong, mostly it is a choice between "this consequence" and "that consequence". This list is by no means complete, or unchangeable, just something to start us on this track. Over to the community to refine this... Saidi

Forgot to add this: we need a working project-name. "PetrolTracker" is an incredibly unimaginative name, but that's all I could come up with. Saidi On Thu, Aug 5, 2010 at 6:04 PM, saidimu apale <saidimu@gmail.com> wrote:

@Saidimu, very nice work! :-)) The list needs more people like you not free support. Im sorry to interrupt briefly, can we move the thread and discussions over to http://my.co.ke/phpbb/ ? It will help in the long run, as pointed out by Frankline. Then to inform the list of any updates you can use the thread header as subject line, a few words in the body and a link to http://my.co.ke/phpbb/ We all are going to do the content threads on the site. My apology for the duplication. Thank you. :-)

Just tried phpBB... but it's broken 1) I can't create a new post: something about the captcha plugin is throwing up debug error messages to the browser. 2) it requires a separate username and password. That is a show-stopper. Saidi On Fri, Aug 6, 2010 at 2:31 AM, aki <aki275@googlemail.com> wrote:
