Yes, with "delay pools" if you use squid. Read this: http://www.faqs.org/docs/Linux-HOWTO/Bandwidth-Limiting-HOWTO.html#AEN65 ..but make sure you can wrap your head around the technicalities within "delay pools". Read the available docs from Squid FAQs and understand its implementation. You did not say why you want to control bandwidth though. Thanks Odhiambo, Just looking a way to limit lan bandwidth and give burst if available. i.e 2m link 9Shared by over 20 users) where let say one user will have a 256 available always but can burst to 1m if available.
