I think if you are good in programming, the language or framework really doesn't matter. You can pick one up and be up and running in a week or so. Similarly, other "departments" such as networking, database management etc comes naturally to any "good" programmer. Speaking from experience I can say that the journey from beginner to good, and then to advanced is not that easily picked up (or maybe its just me who learns slowly). Sure I can throw GO, Swift or any new language at you and you could probably write something useful, but the intricacies and subtle issues unique within each language/platform that are required to create a truly complex system will take some time to master. I dabbled at objective-c and wrote a small app, and I quickly learnt that it would take me around 1-2yrs wholly devoted to objective-s to get to good, and another 3 or more to truly be quite good at writing code for ios/mac.
