Hardware Based Firewalls

Hi, Need advice on choosing a hardware based firewall for an organisation with about 200 users. Most with about 2 devices connecting to the network. Fail over feature and vendor available locally

Have you tried googling? Ok, Cisco ASA, start from there. ./Ok3ch On Tue, Jan 6, 2015 at 7:34 AM, steve wanaswa via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

My hunch is that you'll find life bearable and interesting if you consider one of the many UTMs in the market, like cyberoam/chkpoint/fortgate depending on how deeps your pockets are... You may be lucky to find one that is easy on your pockets, which also allows managing of mobile devices.. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 "I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler."

cyberoam can work well in this scenario. On Tue, Jan 6, 2015 at 11:52 AM, Odhiambo Washington via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

Wash /Steve Cyberoam have a local presence in Nairobi with a wealth of experience. The device is also available in stock. Prices are very affordable if you can compare this with the Cisco Equivalent & Other competitors if I may say so. Dell is so dominant in Kenya I would consider just using Sonicwall: http://www.sonicwall.com/us/en/products/NSA-2600.html#tab=specifications That should be about $3,500 after tax/duty and everything so it's only $15/user for the 3-5 year lifetime plus the annual license for updated threat signatures, etc... Hi, Need advice on choosing a hardware based firewall for an organisation with about 200 users. Most with about 2 devices connecting to the network. Fail over feature and vendor available locally
My hunch is that you'll find life bearable and interesting if you consider one of the many UTMs in the market, like cyberoam/chkpoint/fortgate depending on how deeps your pockets are... You may be lucky to find one that is easy on your pockets, which also allows managing of mobile devices..
