I have a Tecno Phanton Z which I often use as my mobile hotspot. Something I have observed is that the hotspot function is not that stable. I really have to struggle with Internet access all the time when you using it. Looking at the Wlan Hotspot interface, I can see the MAC address of my laptop showing under "Connected users", but that appearance is on and off in a span of just a few seconds. It's not steady at all, as I would have expected. Is that the norm or the function is just flaky on this Android ver 4.4.2 running on the Tecno? Compared to what I observe when I use a Nokia X2, something tells me there is an issue with the Tecno although the Nokia doesn't give me the option of viewing the Wlan params/clients. Is there something I should do? Google doesn't seem to have anything or maybe it's just my google foo that is lacking.. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 "I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler."

i would not say techno , i would say Mediatek devices , i have similar issues with my HTC 616 (which im trying so hard not to throw out the window).. even in the XDA developer forum , they're complaining about Mediatek devices , the source code was released very recently ... so even porting and upgrading becomes quite an issue .. i would say , make sure your next phone isnt a mediatek based phone On Wed, Apr 8, 2015 at 10:53 PM, Odhiambo Washington via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:
