Hi, Scenario: I want to configure outlook/Mozilla Thunderbird to be recieving my emails. One of my email accounts is on gmail, which has about 41,000 emails. Question: Does anyone have a clue of how we can restrict the downloading of all these emails.I want maybe emails of up to last week.the rest if I need I can always refer to gmail itself.Any clues, idea or suggestions are welcome. Nope, best bet is go to gmail, disable pop and then enable it for mail from now, then you can start poping current mail. Its the 'from say last week ' thing im not sure is possible. On 10/26/09, James Muendo <timrick@gmail.com> wrote:

The closest you can get to what you need is a blanket download for mails for the past 30days only,do not create your email address as username@gmail.comon your POP client but as *recent:username@gmail.com <recent%3Ausername@gmail.com>. *That should give you mails for the past 30days. I dont think there is a way to narrow it down to 1week 2009/10/26 [ Brainiac ] <arebacollins@gmail.com>

This appears in the Gmail POP configuration 1. Status: POP is enabled for all mail that has arrived since **/**/200* Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded) Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on Disable POP 2. Mboss, Best bet is to use IMAP. In the email client you should be able to set an 'age limit' on the mails that are sync'd to the account. Mblayo Sent from my iPhone On Oct 26, 2009, at 8:19 PM, James Muendo <timrick@gmail.com> wrote:
