Hi Guys, I was just wondering about this Orange Money thingy... 1. Can someone in M-pesa send money to my orange money and what are the charges? 2. Can someone in Zap send money to my orange money and what are the charges? 3. Can I send money from Orange Money to M-pesa and what are the charges? 4. Can I send money from Orange Money to Zap and what are the charges? Please answer the above if you have done it practically...I just want straightforward answers from people who have done the above practically... Regards, Claire.

1. Can someone in M-pesa send money to my orange money and what are the charges? YES see here<http://www.safaricom.co.ke/fileadmin/M-PESA/Documents/MPESA_TARRIF.pdf> 2. Can someone in Zap send money to my orange money and what are the charges? YES see here<http://www.moseskemibaro.com/2009/02/21/zain-finally-launches-zap-in-kenya/> 3. Can I send money from Orange Money to M-pesa and what are the charges? YES 4. Can I send money from Orange Money to Zap and what are the charges? YES For some reason - Safaricom have their rates hidden in the FAQs in a PDF - Zain/Celtel whatever they are called now don't have anything on their website here: africa.zain.com/kenya - Orange have nothing on their website other than iPhone4. I called customer care to get this info On 10 December 2010 12:40, Claire Njoki <clairenjoki@gmail.com> wrote:

For some reason
- Safaricom have their rates hidden in the FAQs in a PDF
Safaricom rates are published at every M-Pesa point. Nothing is hidden.
However, why have pesa transactions on all networks anyway? -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!

I'm talking about their website! Why can't they do them in HTML with an optional PDF to download? On 10 December 2010 14:39, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com> wrote:

Because you do not transact M-Pesa online, there really is no reason to document the rates online. You will find them at the M-Pesa points! The undocumentedness (yes, that is correct) of the rates online does not affect many users - maybe just you alone! -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!

@Wash, suppose I want to send KShs. 4135 to Assange, I am in the middle of
nowhere with nothing but my phone. I want to know how much I will be charged for sending and how much he will be charged for withdrawing so that I can include it in the amount I send, a website in this would be really helpful. Make that two of us.

I agree with Peter. It is very very easy and very very basic to put MPesa rates on the Safaricom without forcing us to download a pdf? Wash, even if you can see no reason why this would be useful allow yourself to ponder that it could be useful for someone else. Peter gives one example. I am sitting at my desk and I want to send some money via MPesa. How do I know how much to add so they can withdraw the full amount? One way would be to post the information in an easily accessible format on their website. It is ridiculous to assume that every MPesa transaction occurs near one of their posters. -- Pamoja e:daudi.were@gmail.com <e%3Adaudi.were@gmail.com> skype: d.were

Okay guys. I blame the Internet. It misquoted me! I wish to recant anyway:) It does make sense for Safaricom to post M-Pesa rates on their website, and continue to update the rates. I will ensure they do it. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!
