Re: [Skunkworks] [ke-internetusers] activating internet on airtel/zain?

I called their customer care line and got directs to send SMS to 234. I sent message, "All" to 234, got the settings, stored them, made sure phone's configuration points to it, restarted phone (without removing battery) and nothing! The phone's network says Zain. A different Sim card says Airtel and has net connectivity. Phone Model: Nokia 2680s. 8~( --- On Sun, 2/20/11, Alex Gakuru <gakuru@gmail.com> wrote: From: Alex Gakuru <gakuru@gmail.com> Subject: Re: [ke-internetusers] activating internet on airtel/zain? I think they need to enable your SIM card to surf. I have never figured out why they come disabled in the first place

From my experience with the brand in the past, you may get a problem with internet access just because they do not have settings for some phones. If you cannot successfully install and use the settings they send you, then just head on to their customer care centres. It sure will save you quite a bit of time.

The APN is: ke.celtel.com No username No password.

Hi Wesley, Sometimes back I had problems with my safaricom modem where I had bought some data and I couldn't connect. I used to get an error that "The connection to the remote computer could not be established and so the connection used for this computer was closed". I reported by mail to safaricom. They called me and they didn't seem to also understand the problem. Finally I went to customer care center and they finally discovered that my line had not been activated for gprs. So it could be an issue with that. Report to the nearest zain customer care center. They should solve it. On Mon, Feb 21, 2011 at 7:28 AM, Eva Kimathi <evakimathi@gmail.com> wrote:
