Their pricing was veeery wrong, they could have made more from food and drinks.

Simply the following reasons for me: - Increased access to HD content online which earlier on was a problem due to slower internet. A year or two back also getting torrents in HD was for select content. These days it's everywhere. - You can have your select crew in the house as you enjoy your movie - alone, with your gf, or with pals over some beer :) - Watching it on a HDTV in the house trumps a computer anytime - earlier on I could step into the cinema but now I am kinda 'justifying my investment' - Being able to pause/rewind as someone said in the TV clip - this lends credence to an untapped VoD market. With our busy lifestyles sometimes you can't sit through the 2-3 hours for a movie, you want to resume later on from where you left it. Newer media players/TVs have this inbuilt - and even though it's a small point, it counts a lot
I agree with Phares, torrenting is the preferable way of getting any newly released movies and the quality is always perfect. I cannot even remember the last time I watched a camera copy....i thought those ended with VCDs...you mean they are still there in the market...? If you buy the 50 bob movies from a guy who does not understand the concept of Camera Copies, DVDRips and DVD release dates - then you are screwed !!! Try to interview your 50bob movie guy - If the guy has a copy of a movie that opened in US/UK theaters like last week - and insists that "its clear" - then the supplier is a liar. I usually give it a month or three after a movie is released before visiting the Internet Download sites or the 50 bob place to get a clean copy.
