Safaricom cuts digital TV decoder price to woo viewers - Corporate News

The good people at Safaricom should just give us unlimited internet on this thing then watch as they fly off the shelves! Otherwise this is going to be a major flop! It's already showing the bad signs... http://www.businessdailyafrica.com/Corporate-News/Telecoms-operator-cuts-dig... ./muya

The NSE-listed telco also increased data bundle prices meant for use on the ‘The Big Box’, terming the old rate as an “introductory offer” which was “heavily discounted”.
Basically reduce the one-off price, increase the subscription price. Excellent strategy by Safcom. In fact they should give them out for free On Mon, Nov 23, 2015 at 5:15 PM, Muya via skunkworks < skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:

The data bundles just doesn't work for me. Picture this with me, Bond is just about to get into the most advertised part of the movie. Then comes a love letter from Safaricom, that your bundle is less than 2mb. Unattractive, isn't it? ---- Bwana Lawi via skunkworks wrote ---- Did you read this part?

Yep. Bundles are a joke. There are times I do 20Gb worth of software and video downloads a night, and I'm sure other techies do that often. This would be crazy expensive and therefore not an option. ./muya The data bundles just doesn't work for me. @Muya yeah 6k for 30gb? Safcom aren't serious. I'm also in your camp, I average 300gb a month. They've only sold 1500 in 7 months, that boils down to 7 sales a day country wide. For a company of their size with their marketing and distribution pipeline, this is a flop. Regards, John K. On 24 November 2015 at 10:18, Muya via skunkworks <skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke
