Anyone with CISCO Zuku adapter ??

I don't know if you heard about the Zuku powersurge story. Yesterday evening, back home, I found a dead modem :( Zuku said this morning that following the national KPLC blackout/powersurge, the adapter got damaged and that many customers have similar problem. Wait, they charge 1200 kshs for a new adapter and they don't have them in stock !!!! So, anyone here with a solution, a place to get a new adapter for those cheap CISCO modem. Thanks

My brother had the same problem. I gave him my universal power adapter (the type with adjustable voltage like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-AC-DC-ADAPTER-1-5V-3V-4-5V-6V-9V-12V-500mA...). All sorted. You can buy these around town. Cost about 1200/- to 2000/- though. On Wed, May 29, 2013 at 3:51 PM, TheBigBoss <thebigboss@peperuka.com> wrote:

Thanks guys ! I was very very lucky... Came home yesterday and there was a Zuku team in my compound so I spoke to technician who sold me a power adapter but the UK model at 2k (he told me others are shit indeed). A bit expensive, never though adapter were that expensive but at least I saved money on petrol, parking and time by avoiding going to Zuku's office. My heavy investment in a UPS seems to have paid off. My Zuku modem wasn't zapped my Kenya Power. But seriously, there should be a away to recover these cost of replacing adapters/appliances from Kenya Power. On Thu, May 30, 2013 at 2:31 PM, TheBigBoss <thebigboss@peperuka.com> wrote:
