My brother had the same problem. I gave him my universal power adapter (the type with adjustable voltage like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-AC-DC-ADAPTER-1-5V-3V-4-5V-6V-9V-12V-500mA-6P-/330602218135). All sorted. You can buy these around town. Cost about 1200/- to 2000/- though.
