Looking for Nissan Anti Theft system (NATS) Intelligent Key

I need a spare key for a Nissan Note. It comes fitted with NATS (Nissan Anti Theft system) which uses a key fitted with a transponder and an Intelligent Key for key-less operation. I contacted DT-Dobie and quoted 30,000 sh which I find a lot for a spare key unless I can get a locksmith who has such keys for Nissans. Any pointers? -- Regards, Job Njogu Muriuki, Phone: (+254) - 722906324 | 736333075 Skype: heviejob | Yahoo: heviejob Address: 42665 00100 Nrb nbsp;|

You better be very careful with you “only key”, as if you loose it, in addition of the costs of replacing the “Security keys” you will have to get the ECU of you car replaced with a new one as well. Only authorized dealers have access to re-program “blank Keys” with existing security “codes” for your car’s existing ECU. The only other way to go around this would be to replace the ECU on your car but that will cost more. That’s the price for having a key that control doors, windows, alarm, and engine all at the push of a button. As requested, Job.. Have a look at this forums below. "If the Nissan key is programmed incorrectly, the replacement key will unlock the doors and turn in the ignition, but the car’s ECU (Engine Control Unit) will NOT allow the vehicle to start." Something else i found online is that All Nissan Cars sold since 1995 are equipped with a factory-fitted immobiliser system linked to a small glass chip embedded in the car key, It is normally "impossible" to bypass, override or remove a Nissan immobiliser and still drive the vehicle. If the correct chip is present, the immo system will allow the Nissan vehicle to start. If the immo system fails to detect a chip the fuel supply to the engine is cut off. http://www.autokeysquad.com/lost-nissan-car-keys-replaced http://www.noteownersclub.co.uk/forum/replacement-keys_topic11.html http://www.carkeyadvice.com/forum/showthread.php?2472-Nissan-Note-Key-Replac... I am afraid but you will have to bite the bullet on this one.. Only dealers with authority can only perform this function. Others may be able to cut you a key, that will only be able to unlock the door. "If the Nissan key is programmed incorrectly, the replacement key will unlock the doors and turn in the ignition, but the car’s ECU (Engine Control Unit) will NOT allow the vehicle to start."
Something else i found online is that All Nissan Cars sold since 1995 are equipped with a factory-fitted immobiliser system linked to a small glass chip embedded in the car key, It is normally "impossible" to bypass, override or remove a Nissan immobiliser and still drive the vehicle. If the correct chip is present, the immo system will allow the Nissan vehicle to start. If the immo system fails to detect a chip the fuel supply to the engine is cut off.

Never used it for purchase just for finding the OEM part numbers for a car. You said the person that was to program your key needed the part number and DT Dobie won't share the info. You should be able to find it here. -Billy 2013/6/3 Job Muriuki <muriukin@gmail.com>
@ Bill Have you ever bought directly from this site?

Unfortunately only authorised dealers have access to nissan inventory parts database..that allows new keys to be programmed.

I got someone who can program the key into the car now the challenge is knowing the correct part number of the intelligent key. The local dealer - DT dobie has a policy not to give out part numbers. Where can I get this info - google is not so resourceful

I am afraid but you will have to bite the bullet on this one.. Only dealers with authority can only perform this function. Others may be able to cut you a key, that will only be able to unlock the door. I don't know anywhere locally that i can personally recommend, and my contact at DT Dobie has since moved on.. pole

You seem well informed on these type of car security systems. Could you be knowing where I can get the spare key locally.
