You may need either: A stand-alone PSTN gateway like the Linksys 3102 or the Minitar MVA11A Or PCI card On Thu, Nov 18, 2010 at 11:13 AM, Dave Kirirah <dave.kirirah@gmail.com>wrote:

Letian, You would require a TDM FXO PCI/PCIe card digium, sangoma etc etc. The number of ports is dependent on the number of lines you have and expect to have in future. Talk to Oliver Ndegwa (search the archives) for equipment. Then you also require GSM terminals to connect them to the card rj11 ports. Enjoy your set up. Kind regards -- Lusiola Brian |3 R 1 /-\ |\|

If you can get hold of old conexant 56k pci modems may work as an fxo card From: skunkworks-bounces@lists.my.co.ke [mailto:skunkworks-bounces@lists.my.co.ke] On Behalf Of Brian L Sent: Thursday, November 18, 2010 11:17 AM To: Skunkworks Mailing List Subject: Re: [Skunkworks] Asterisk setup On Thu, Nov 18, 2010 at 11:09 AM, Letian Kevin <kevin.letian@gmail.com> wrote: Hi guys, I am looking to set up our phone system at an office and have set up trixbox already for inhouse calls with a plan to make and receive calls to and from outside networks How can i connect our local safaricom and zain lines to trixbox so that incoming calls to them can be directed into asterisk? what hardware do i need and where do i get it? -- Kevin Letian _______________________________________________ Skunkworks mailing list Skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke http://lists.my.co.ke/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/skunkworks ------------ Skunkworks Rules http://my.co.ke/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=24 <http://my.co.ke/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=94> &t=94 ------------ Other services @ http://my.co.ke Letian, You would require a TDM FXO PCI/PCIe card digium, sangoma etc etc. The number of ports is dependent on the number of lines you have and expect to have in future. You do not necessarily have to acquire the cards - you can use a SIP trunk to someone in Kenya offering same service like KDN for both local and international, - been using this for 15 months now. You may opt to route your international traffic through another carrier by setting a sip/iax2 trunk. Should you go for the card, get as such for FXO http://www.digium.com/en/products/analog/tdm410.php etc pcie / pci
How can i connect our local safaricom and zain lines to trixbox so that incoming calls to them can be directed into asterisk?
Inbound/outbound routes for safcom.zain etc will be managed by the card above or other models but you should have a GSM adapter/gateway what hardware do i need and where do i get it?
Import and also some guys have advertised here before
