There has been an iPad version in the line for a while, I think they've been holding unto it to push their tablets. But I also wonder why the sudden urge to go Linux, which they've really ignored.

Let Windows stuff stay in Windows.[?] !!!!!!!!!!! On Fri, Feb 8, 2013 at 6:54 AM, Dennis Kioko <dmbuvi@gmail.com> wrote:

Lol! Seriously though its all business. Remember Microsoft is not open-sourcing windows. It is just offering a Linux version. You will still have to buy it. That makes a lot of business sense, considering that there are many companies at the moment who run Linux/Open source instead of Windows as their choice of company OS. While targeting the whole opensource community may result in giggles and muffled laughter, Microsoft hopes that the serious guys, the companies may shell out some cash for Office to 'improve productivity'. While I agree it IS business, why has it not been of any interest to Microsoft for all these many, many, many, many........... years past? I'm curious to know. If there was a Linux version, I would probably buy it. There is quite a lot that is lacking in OpenOffice and LibreOffice.
