The Linux documentation project is a very good source. You can have a look at the guides [ http://tldp.org/guides.html ] for starters.
In this day and age, you can virtually get anything you want on the net if its available ... and if you know how to search. That being said, visit www.4shared.com and in the search bar, enter 'linux pdf ' . That should keep you busy for a couple of hours.

What is even more important than reading is practicing .. If you dont have a machine with the distro you want all the reading is in vain. You actually learn more by hands on than pdfs and networking with like minded people.
