Hi all, My sister has lost her birth certificate and wants to get a replacement. I have tried doing a search on the net but I can't find this [basic] information on how to go about it. Can anyone point me in the direction of a link where I can access this information or even provide the info? All I can find on the net is this [useless to me] page: http://www.information.go.ke/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=267&I... -- Regards Brian Ngure

Six years ago I had to get a replacement for my brother who was out of the country. As long as you know the date of birth duh!! and the hospital of birth or better yet, if you have a photocopy you can just go to the attorney generals office, i think its called registrar of birth/deaths something like that. The process is painless though I cant remember what exactly I did but I was able to que and be served on my brothers behalf. I went back a week later to pick up the copy. She can just go queue are report that she lost it they should sort her out. Maybe things have changed now, I donno, remember this was six years ago. ----- "Brian Ngure" <brian@pixie.co.ke> wrote:

I replaced mine in December last year. As Steve says, all you need is your parents names, place and date of birth. It cost 130 and it takes one week. On Tue, Aug 2, 2011 at 16:10, Brian Ngure <brian@pixie.co.ke> wrote:

Thanks Amanya. I have also asked around and one thing I have been told is that she might need a Birth Notification Card. Considering that she is an adult and this card is usually given to the parents at birth, I have no idea where to get this. From the hospital? In shags? Brian, all i had was a need for a cert. I carried no other document. My assumption is tha they ask for birth cert copies and the Notification Number to make their work easier. but if you have the other details right they will replace it. Its illogical for them to ask for the notification card since they take it away when they issue you with a birth certificate, so am sure you do not need the notification, probably only if you do not know the hospital/district of birth. ./Ok3ch On Tue, Aug 2, 2011 at 10:21 PM, amanya <whynnot@gmail.com> wrote:

Idiot users, this is for you... http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/technology-blog/android-malware-records-phone-ca...

...have also picked from this thread that keeping copies of your important documents is good. For hard copies; photocopy. I find it easier to scan my academic certs, ID card, passport, PIN cert, etc and upload them to a draft email or send them to myself. On the cloud you can access them from anywhere. Mugo.
