Where is Alex Gakuru to shed some light on this matter. Is it fair on providers to decide to abritrarily withdraw services from paying customers? Is there anywhere in the signing up where Safaricom says they prohibit torrent traffic? On Tue, Jun 9, 2009 at 7:55 PM, Moses <mosenetk@gmail.com> wrote:

Please do. I have some material on ISPs who tried similar tactics in the US and how customers reacted On Tue, Jun 9, 2009 at 8:23 PM, Gakuru Alex <alexgakuru.lists@gmail.com>wrote:

Safaricom throttles torrent traffic, Try encrypting your traffic - most torrent clients have this function (use random ports or forward the "guilty" ports) OR just use Tor to hape your own traffic. Ofcourse Linux/*bsd Users reap the most benefits. :-)

Please any body with Nichael Josephs Email Rad! wrote:

Deep packet inspection is routine in most telcos given the volume Torrents are occupying in any given network and safaricom are well within their rights to manage quality. It's actually a fact that top 10% of users, eat up 80-90% of bandwidth, by any standards this is not acceptable even in a traditional ISP. Don't bother Michael Joseph, he has bigger fish to fry. Its called fair use policy. Torrents hog the network so they are trying to save the light internet users. On Tue, Jun 9, 2009 at 8:55 PM, Moses <mosenetk@gmail.com> wrote:

But where have they prohibited torrents? I know serveral people who specifically signed up to get torrents. If they don't want such traffic they should say so clearly. On Tue, Jun 9, 2009 at 8:08 PM, Job Njogu <jnjogu@gmail.com> wrote:
