I thought you have to return it to Microsoft to get a new one?

Hey, I keep on having the same problem, but what has worked for me so far, is actually wrapping the xbox 360 with three towels then put it on and let it run for like 15-20 minutes then unwrap it and let it cool down completely, then just put it on and play. I have no IT solution why this works (beats me) but it is a temporary fix I found from the internet. The red lights will come back again after a few days of play and you have to go through the same cycle again. This is very risky, so if anything goes wrong you are on your own bro. Oh, the other permanent solution was to open up the xbox and apply thermal paste on the processor, but I dint have the right screw drivers to try that. Regards, Justin

Towels OK thats a new one i will most definately try that one tonight if it does not work i guess i will have to buy the correct screws and open it @ Dannis kioko return to microsoft hehehe boss the logistics are just hectic>> On Tue, Jan 4, 2011 at 1:38 PM, Justin Mochama <justinmochama@googlemail.com

@Ericko If you are in Nairobi Area and brave enough to venture into the CBD, there are some Chinese fellows who do repairs and chipping on PS3's (though you really can't chip it) & XBOXs. The building is opposite the rear side of The National Archives and across Tuskys Supermarket on Accra Road. Its a building with blue windows, I don't remember it's name. I had to visit them last year when I had to have the old xbox chipped, they did mine in a couple of hours. There are also many DIY's online, just hunt around, might give you something else to do over the weekend. Cheers and all the best. By the way what games are you playing on the 360? @Brian, the above line caught my eye, do you mind expounding on the underlined part? So, do they chip the PS3's?
@Brian - what exactly is "chipping"?? -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Damn!!

The PS3 can be hacked with a USB dongle that first requires a firmware downgrade thus can play games from HDD or copied games but it has its disadvantages .....eg no online access and repeated upgrade & downgrade of firmware etc ..........but there is something cooking in the hackers kitchen PS3 Root signature keys were release afew days ago so soon enough there will be a better chipping method ...................... But be that as it may i stick to my 360 with simple DIY chipping more game titles etc etc endless list On Wed, Jan 5, 2011 at 3:21 PM, Odhiambo Washington <odhiambo@gmail.com>wrote:

@Tony. I still have not seen or read of a hardware mod on the PS3. However last year a break though was made<http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8478764.stm> and some very enterprising fellows <http://www.ps3breakstore.com/> got on it. However, Sony took that opportunity to release a security update that countered this, but it still works if you don't update. If you check on torrents you will find the first PS3 games uploaded were in late August. Please follow the links for the relevant articles. @Wash Chipping is physically soldering extra hardware onto a consoles motherboard that alters its BIOS. In short it allows you to play pirated games and other things e.g the old xbox can be turned into a a media center through installing XBMC xbox media center. Regards, -- Lusiola Brian |3 R 1 /-\ |\|
