Problem using exchange 2007 as a relayhost.
Hi Guys, Our linux(postfix) server has been sending emails using exchange 2003 as the relay, but since we upgraded to exchange 2007 it cannot send external emails anymore, the linux server has already been added as a relay in exchange, has anybody ever faced this challenge. -- Regards Felix Mwai Software Developer. Hi Felix, I see no reason at all for this to happen, if other clients on your network can send outbound e-mails via your Exchange 2007. Anyway, you need to adjust the logging level for your SMTP service upwards and see why it's happening. Hi. By default, Exchange 2007 does not allow unauthenticated SMTP emails. You need to configure your receive connector (or create a receive connector for this purpose) and add the Linux server's IP to the list of servers allowed. Washington Thanks, our exchange is administered in SA and the linux server in Kenya, i have the mail logs for linux which indicate emails as sent successfully, i have requested for exchange logs from the administrator. Geoffrey The linux server has already been added to relay through exchange, but still not working, as i informed you we have the same settings as we had in exchange 2003.
