[SKUNKWORKS] Galaxy Gear

I am at Berlin for the launch of the Galaxy Note III, Galaxy Gear and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 last night. Galaxy Gear is a Galaxy Note III compliment in that you don't need to remove the smartphone from the pocket to do basic things like read email notifications and make calls. I am not linking to my blog today, anyone knows where to find it when they need it. We had a conversation at launch where some were saying that the average Galaxy Note III buyer has a watch and they may find it hard switching it for the Gear. What do you guys think? FYI my twitter avi has me wearing one. Regards, Martin Gicheru | Founder and Editor at Techweez Tel:254721906171 | Website:http://www.techweez.com | Skype ID: martingicheru | Twitter ID:martingicheru | Gplus: gplus.to/martingicheru

If I break my GN III, my watch becomes useless until I get a replacement?? I think I need a device that complements, not one that relies on, another. IMHO, it's not yet time for these Samsung wearables, or it's just a mistake they rushed out something that's not matured. On 5 September 2013 11:54, Martin Gicheru <martin@techweez.com> wrote:

I think in response to this is that there is always time for the first version of something, like what Android 1.0 was. Gear will work with other devices with time, including the Galaxy S 4 in October. I also don't see an immediate use for a watch tied to my phone. Samsung it appears are churning out just about any combination of tech and waiting to see what sticks. Look at at the S4 with a camera strapped to its back. I do not mind this at all though and The shareholders are having a ball so carry on Samsung!
